CliniSonix Inc. develops novel arrays and systems for automated 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging with quantum leap improvements in resolution, sensitivity, speed, intelligence and breakthrough array form factors compared to current array technology.

We have developed a proprietary Top-Orthogonal-to-Bottom-Electrode (TOBE) flat panel probe array for 3D ultrasound imaging that offers a significant improvement in image resolution while reducing wiring complexity and maintaining cost competitiveness.

Existing matrix arrays require wiring of every element in the array (N x N wires), making very large arrays impractical to manufacture. Our arrays use row-column addressing that reduces wiring complexity (N + N wires) and makes the manufacturing of very large arrays possible.

Unlike conventional piezoelectric row-column arrays, our TOBE probes can image beyond the shadow of the aperture for widefield volumetric scanning. We can achieve transmit and receive focusing everywhere in an electronically-steerable image plane, resulting in significantly higher image quality. Our TOBE arrays can achieve readout from every element of an NxN array, enabling novel volumetric ultrasonic and photoacoustic imaging modes.

Our products include novel TOBE arrays, required biasing electronics and adaptor plates to commercially available research ultrasound platforms. CliniSonix also provides software development kits, real-time imaging software and GUIs utilizing GPUs. We offer handheld 128x128 arrays, massive 256x128 arrays, and even wearable flex-circuit-tethered 64x48 arrays in a range of frequencies.
