North Carolina State University College of Engineering - Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
NC State University's Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering is one of the leading electrical and computer engineering
research departments in the world. Based in Koch Hall, named for
alumna and astronaut Christina Koch, the department serves over 2,300
undergraduate and graduate students, making it one of the largest ECE
programs in the nation. It is home to CLAWS, one of 8 regional ME
Commons Hubs funded as part of the CHIPS and Science Act, the FREEDM
Systems Center and the ASSIST Center, both launched as National
Science Foundation Engineering Research Centers, as well as AERPAW, an
NSF-funded aerial wireless research platform. These centers give our
students hands-on access to research at the national level, opening up
collaborations across industry, government and the Research Triangle.
The department offers real-world learning and entrepreneurship
opportunities, helping students and faculty move discoveries from an
idea in a lab to a product in the marketplace. Through our programs,
we emphasize application-driven research that makes an impact for the
people of North Carolina and the world.
