Chris Daft has broad experience in physics, medical imaging, semiconductors, and signal
processing, with a focus on healthcare applications. His work includes intravascular imaging,
monitoring of cancer treatments, and point-of-care imaging systems. Technical areas of
expertise include system design, wave mathematics, real-time signal processing, sensor design,
ASIC development, and MEMS.
Dr. Daft holds 27 patents (with 20 pending) and has authored 23 publications. He is an active
member of the IEEE UFFC society. His career includes both technical and strategic roles at large
companies and startups, spanning product development and commercialization.
Dr. Daft received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Oxford University, where his research
focused on mammalian tissue microstructure, and holds a B.A. and M.A. in Physics. He began
his career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, conducting research in acoustic
microscopy, before moving into industry where he has led engineering teams in the
development of medical devices.
