F. Stuart Foster

F. Stuart Foster (Fellow, IEEE) is currently a Senior Scientist with Sunnybrook Research Institute, Toronto, ON, Canada, and a Professor with the Department of Medical Biophysics, University of Toronto, Toronto. His current research centers on the development of high-frequency clinical and preclinical imaging systems, array technology, intravascular imaging, photoacoustics, and molecular imaging. He is the founder and former Chairman of what is now Fujifilm VisualSonics Inc., a company dedicated to preclinical and clinical ultrasound imaging. Dr. Foster co-founded the Mouse Imaging Centre (MICe), now at the Toronto Centre for Phenogenomics. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Cancer Institute of Canada and as Chairman of its Committee on Research (ACOR). Dr. Foster is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, an elected Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering in the United States, and an Officer of the Order of Canada
